Black Teas

It starts in the up-down motion known as dunking and ends in the ritual wringing out of the bag. Black Tea is the common garden variety of most supermarkets but we believe it can be so much more. Black tea is fully oxidised. Where other varieties may be subtle and delicate these are bold and engaging.

History, and how it is made

The leaves are picked at maturity, withered, oxidised and finally fired. They can then sometimes be chopped up into itty, bitty pieces for the household tea bags or left loose and large leafed for grandma’s teapot. They say the British Empire was built on this stuff but we think it goes rather better with scones and butter than bayonets and Colonel Mustard.

T BAR searches the world over for the finest quality black teas allowing you to infuse up to at least 2 times. Enjoy!
