Dark in the cup, Hojicha has a roasty, toasty flavour. Made from the twigs of Bancha it’s roasted over charcoal to produce a red colour and slight caramel flavour. Low in caffeine and tannin.
How to Brew
Boil fresh water to 80ºc.
Add 1 level tsp for a cup, or a heaped tsp for a pot.
Infusion time: 2 - 4 min. Remove leaves from water to ensure infusion remains smooth not bitter.
Re-infuse up to 3 times.
